Best of 2009-Johnny’s Style!
2009 has been an interesting year, to say the least. Lots of unexpected things happened, like NYC Boys, Tegomass’ first concert tour, Jin and Yamapi making solo debuts, Kanjani’s 3 consecutive singles, Arashi breaking a million and officially taking over Japan.
We’ve prepared lots of categories for you to give answers to, and now you don’t have to answer every one of them but it would be nice if you did. Remember, this isn’t a poll, so you can choose as many answers as you like for each question, and we’d love to hear your reasoning for why you chose each thing. Obviously, each category relates to releases in 2009, not any year previous to that.

I listened to Loveless and 時計じかけのアンブレラ on a motherfucking loop. Saw Arashi in concert at Tokyo Dome so I can’t complain about not seeing them. The countdown was amazing. The dramas were brilliant. I even loved Osen. This year rocked.

What can I say that I haven’t already? All I hope is that Arashi continues to be awesome (while not necessarily taking over Japan, though that part is A-OK by me as well) and that everyone else grows and learns and is brilliant in their own ways. <3

I really enjoyed watching NEWS host 24 hour tv this year. They don’t have their own variety show so watching them as a group on tv is always a treat.

I went and marathoned all of Arashi’s old variety shows this year. Their old stuff is ridiculously funny and while their recent higher budget variety shows are awesome, their old late night shows had a certain endearing charm to them.
Final thoughts:
I can’t think of a better 10th anniversary for Arashi then the one they had. As a fan I was so happy for all their endless achievements this year. As a casual fan of NEWS, KAT-TUN, V6, and Kanjani8 I was more than happy with their singles and super fun to watch con dvds. I wish I could say the same about HeySayJump…but those guys hardly got any attention this year =( The countdown was of course awesome, complete with johnny’s members mingling, song shuffling, and flying Tackey

I went back and watched a lot of old Arashi shows, like D and G no Arashi, Mago Mago Arashi, and some of the older Shukudai-kun episodes. It’s awesome to see how the boys have changed and how much they’re still the same
Final thoughts:
2009 had sooooo many achievements for Arashi, more than I could have asked for or count. I hope they’re extremely satisfied with themselves, because I certainly am. For 2010, I hope while they can take a break, they don’t fall of the face of the earth, but I really don’t think that’s likely. I’ll look forward to the new year for some more News, too.

Giving Arashi the general spotlight for their 10th year, because they deserve it, though I do feel bad for the other Johnny’s groups who had to take a backseat in terms of releases and concerts for the majority of this year.
Worst Decision:
Um, allowing the Johnny’s costume department to vomit all over Kis-My-Ft2 for the October 16th Music Station performance.

My general obsession with Arashi. I also discovered the LJ Johnny’s goods-selling site JE Sales, which pretty much broke my wallet.
Final thoughts:
I became a Johnny’s fan this year, and it has been one of the better years of my life. I can only hope that it keeps on bring joy to my life in years to come!

Oh damn it. It’s a tie between Share (NEWS) and Tokei Jikake no Umbrella (ARASHI). Both were really good, Share on an emotional level, as I’m sure it’s a song that won’t easily be forgotten by both the fans and the group themselves, and Tokei no Jikake no Umbrella because it was just really insanely good. It’s something we need to hear more of from Arashi.
Best album track:
KAT-TUN – Water Dance.
Best Concert DVD:
Winter Party Diamond is the only one I’ve seen from this year, so I’ll go with that.
Best special release:

Best Drama:
Mr. Brain was one of the best most intelligent dramas of this year, it was deffinitely worth watching even to those who knew nothing about JE, and Kimura Takuya is practically the best actor ever. Also, Buzzer Beat was really good in plot since it didn’t become some big huge overdramatic romance, it was more real to life and therefore the viewers could relate to it more. Can’t forget RESCUE, it was cute and enjoyable and left me crying at many scenes!

Worst Decision:

2009 needs more NEWS. Aside from that it was pretty good. A few stupid things happened, but hey, we’re seeing more and more of Uchi kinda getting his job back, that makes me happy, we’re seeing a lot of good things coming out of Tegomass, stuff from yamapi, a lot of good stuff from KAT-TUN and Arashi this year too. WHERE IS HEY SAY JUMP? REALLY. Other than that, well it was a good year.

I loved all the attention they had and I‘ve actually bought their singles and album (Not cause of deprivation..XD) and all the Potato issues that had major Arashi pimpage
- Yeah those are my only fandoms.. so in the end my year was pretty average (6/10)..Would’ve been nice if Hey say JUMP released or Johnny’s stopped pimping Yuma, Yamada, and Chinen (to the extent that the fandom started hating on Yamachii) but it was nice to spend the year catching up on 10 years of the activities of ghei rainbow dorks.

Overall 2009 was a so-so year for me. This was the year that I totally got into JE, in particular NEWS. But I was a little peeved at how many individual works they did and how few their group works are (but I’m totally happy about Yamapi’s single and concert… I’m so biased.) I wish 2010 would be a better year for them. And I also wish that Ya-Ya-Yah comes back again, although I totally doubt that coz Taiyo’s already resigned…

I love this year’s countdown especially the GROUP CHANGE MEDLEY! Pin going solo yet guesting together is love~ and TegoMass having a concert is the greatest thing ever. <3

Well actually, I don’t really like them from the start but… well…

Couldn’t stop watching NEWS Winter Party DIAMOND (the solo PVs were great but the whole concert itself was great too) and Arashi AAA 2008 (fell in love with Subarashiki Sekai performance).
And Arashi’s song Attack It! well… at first I didn’t like it but after listening to it a couple of times I couldn’t stop!
Final thoughts:
Even though this year NEWS has been quite passive, still like this year better than 2008 because this year was a special year for Arashi
Hope that in 2010 Arashi will be as great as always and NEWS will have some great singles

arashi obsession. well, they are my fave. the ones that got me into johnny’s were these amazing five guys. though they weren’t the first johnny’s group that i heard of.
i keep reading arashi interviews. that’s one obsession recently. especially nino’s and arashi round table talks.

i love 2009! arashi entering my life was wonderful! they made me happier! and changed me into a johnny’s fan[i used to be anti-johnny]. im happy with arashi’s achievements! it was a great ten year for them! with them having best in sales for all categories was truly amazing! anything they do is amazing to me anyway. im proud of them n im
glad to be an arashi fan. hope they have an amazing 11th year with all fans! take the world be storm.:)

Couldn’t stop dreaming about Uchi as Pink Ranger. Watching old K8 shows like Honjani and Urajani repeadedly even though I couldn’t understand what they were saying! Also the year I started reading fanfiction (Ryouchi OTP) mindlessly.
Final thoughts:
Really happy for Eito that they’re going strong and working so hard. Only wish is that Johnny would let Uchi rejoin Kanjani8 so they can be 8 again! Also realised that this was probably a futile wish. So instead for 2010 I just wish the best for all 8 of them in whatever they’re pursuing this year.

I’ll be honest, I must have watched that clip from Seminar (you know the one) on repeat all the time. It made me want to live in Japan so much…..
Final thoughts:
I liked 2009 in terms of what Johnny’s offered me. Naturally it was an Arashi year so the other groups sort of backed down, but we got a lot of different solo activities. My hopes for the next year include NEWS reuniting because I’ve missed them all together. Also, I’m really hoping Jin leaves KATTUN and goes solo because I hate him, and maybe with him gone I could start being a KAT-TUN fan.

Final thoughts:
2009 was a great year for Arashi. NYC Boys and Snow Prince Gasshoudan are great groups. Year I would want to go back to or rather continue in that fast moving state: 2007. Hopes for 2010: Hey!Say!JUMP have higher weightage compared to NYC Boys. Arashi move towards international stage. Less biasness between groups.

Actually i am not really satisfied wit 2009. eventho many good things happen in my fandom (like Tegomasu single, album, con, yamapi con, soukon) but i still feel it’s not enough. i want to see them together. even in 24 hour, the are only just standing together. >,> ok, there are perrformance…but yeah, i am hoping for more in 2010.
