So proud! I love Sho, I think he is not only well spoken, but incredibly smart, and dedicated. Oh ya, and hot. So congratulations to him!!
…okay, so personally, I think the Yatterman symbol looks like underwear…that was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw the it.
So onto a review. I watched it on the train ride home from visiting a friend, and all-in-all I thought it was a pretty cool movie. It struck me as really childish, and something that would be catered towards a younger audience, but it wasn’t unbearable to watch. I think it appeared childish to me because of the uncomplicated plot, and the misspelling of words like Narway, and Ogypt…cute, but very childish. Though there were also some parts which were pretty perverted (Yatter-wan getting a nosebleed from Doronbo’s mecha), so I’m not quite sure what to classify it as.
To be honest, I was only watching it for Sho at the beginning, but it was actually an all right movie. Sho wasn’t as cool as I had hoped he would be in his role (not like I really knew what to expect), but he was still cute regardless. And the scenes with Gan and #2 were really cute.
As I had no idea about anything related to Yatterman, and having only played the Japanese Nintendo DS games very briefly without understanding the text parts, I feel that the movie was pretty explanatory to viewers who had no knowledge of it at all. Though it also wasn’t too verbose so that people who did already know about it would get bored watching the explanations take place. I thought that was a pretty good call from the director, and the way it was done was good. Though it was a random break in the movie, and it clearly reminded the viewer that it was a movie they were watching, I think it added to the experience of it.
The ending was really touching as well. I will definitely keep the movie, but I don’t think I would watch it again. And if I do, it would have to be much later, after I’ve forgotten most of the details and plot.
Has anyone else seen it? Thoughts?
